Only Promises

21 May

We spoke as though the grass was greener
I was colder, you were meaner,
we conveniently forgot
everything we were not
supposed to be.

Miles between us now
and I can’t quite see how
we could have left us behind
you could have ever been unkind
to me.

There are no words,
only promises.

I will never
do it
again.

The grass was never greener.

This poem gives me a sense of nostalgia. I like it very much and can certainly relate to your words in my own life. -The grass was never greener-
    Thank you for sharing. ♥

Thanks bipolarmuse <3 I'm sorely tempted to get the last line tattooed on my arm as a reminder.

Very nice! There’s no grass greener than that which we’re standing on (or smoking). At least that’s what I keep hearing.

Well, it’s certainly my experience. I’m yet to find a greener grass… and I think I’ve learned now.

      Thanks for reading, essaybee.

Its like a when a promise is made, it is meant to be broken.

I tend to agree with that. I’m wary of promises. Hints are much better; you don’t get your hopes up too much.

I know. But some people just don’t tend to understand. Idiots -.-

Send me love.
